Green Business Project: Creating opportunity for young people and women in rural Kenya

The green business project is a new project whose goal is to “Increase employment opportunities for women and youth in rural areas” through supporting sustainable growth of Green Enterprises / TVET institutions and stimulate eradication of poverty in Rural Kenya.
It is funded by Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V formerly GAA and is a 5 year project running from 1st November 2019 to 31st October 2024 and this is through ADSK and shall be implemented in Kajiado, Kakamega and Makueni counties. ADSE has employed one staff who shall be coordinating in Makueni but the overall responsibility is with ADSK. In our region, this project will benefit 650 youth and women who will get an opportunity to enroll for green skills in TVETs.
The roll out of this project is expected to have three outcomes:
Outcome 1. The role of TVET Institutions in green skills development will be strengthened.
Outcome 2. Adaptive capacities of community members (particularly women and youth groups) and their livelihoods will improved.
Outcome 3. There will be increased knowledge sharing, stakeholder dialogue and learning
